For more than four decades, Pro Sound & Video, a Solotech Company, has designed, developed and installed some of the most advanced AV systems in many of the most renowned venues across the United States. Its employees have the vision, skills and commitment to making sure every project is the best that they can create – and then go a step better. One of their key employees is Jamie Gillespie, senior design engineer.

In September 2021, Gillespie and his team were enlisted by the Arizona Cardinals and BetMGM to design the AV system for the new sports book at State Farm Stadium. The firm had been working with the Cardinals since 2006 when the stadium was built. Gillespie had worked directly for the Cardinals, doing all of the stadium’s sound system work before joining Pro Sound & Video in 2018. These associations built mutual trust when the BetMGM sports book project was greenlighted.

The centerpiece of the 15,000 square foot sports book is a 40’ x 7’ LED wall, which is accompanied by 45 additional monitors throughout the facility. The entire system is driven by ZeeVee ZyPer4K AVoIP encoders and decoders, which along with the ZyPer Management Platform, enables video content to be easily routed to the LED wall or any individual monitor in the main lounge area, restaurant or conference rooms via an intuitive iPad interface. With the ZyPer Management Platform, one person can stand in front of the monitor and choose video sources and TV channels with the touch of a button.

ZeeVee was brought into the project as its RF signal distribution products had been used by the Cardinals previously. Gillespie and his team worked with ZeeVee Sales Manager James Chordas and Director of Product Management Art Weeks to gain an understanding of the many benefits of an AVoIP solution including performance, flexibility and ease-of-use. They also provided assistance in the final project design.

Now complete for a half year, BetMGM executives and staff are happy with the performance and reliability of the sports book’s AV system. In particularly, they appreciate the fact that it can be seamlessly controlled by those on staff who may not have a lot of technical expertise.

According to Gillespie, working with ZeeVee was a very positive experience. In addition to the performance of the products, he was impressed by ZeeVee’s support and responsiveness.

“In fact, we’re looking to do another project just like it,” concludes Gillespie.
