Camera Corner Connecting Point (CCCP), headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is a leading provider of world-class technology solutions. First opening as a camera store in 1953, CCCP has since expanded into other technologies including IT, AV, managed services, physical security and unified communications.
The company is committed to providing its customers with quality products and services at the best value. To do that, they hire only the most qualified people who work hard to make the buying experience enjoyable. One of these employees is Scott Tomashek, senior VP of AV strategy.
In November 2021, Tomashek was tasked with providing AV equipment for a sportsbook renovation at Oneida Casino in Green Bay. The renovation, which needed to be completed by early February 2022 in time for the Super Bowl, called for more than 80 displays arranged in video wall groups (3x2, 4x4 and 5x3) and as single displays. The video walls also needed the capability to show individual channels on each display and provide one channel across multiple displays.
Tomashek, who had worked with ZeeVee on previous projects, selected ZeeVee ZyPer4K encoders and decoders for the project since it had successfully supported large casino projects previously and could meet the tight timeline for delivering the product – no small feat in this era of supply chain disruptions.
“As both an IT and AV equipment and service provider, CCCP knew that ZeeVee’s video over IP solution fit very well with our expertise,” said Tomashek. “Equally important, Oneida and CCCP have worked on several projects before and have a very strong relationship. We knew we could trust ZeeVee with this important customer.”
Tomashek was impressed with ZeeVee’s quick and open communication throughout the project. During the ordering phase, when a part number was incorrectly entered into the system, ZeeVee’s customer care team worked with Tomashek to correct the mistake and ensure that the right products were delivered on time.
“ZeeVee was great to work with throughout the whole process,” said Tomashek. “During commissioning we had a video setting issue and reached out to ZeeVee. It was able to pull in the switch manufacturer on a call which allowed us to work together and quickly resolve the issue. This teamwork-based approach made this a successful project.”
CCCP is observing a growing trend of its customers adopting AVoIP technology into their projects. He believes that AVoIP signal distribution solutions offer greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness compared to standard matrix switches. In the case of Oneida Casino, the use of ZeeVee’s SDVoE AVoIP ZyPer4K encoders and decoders, in conjunction with the ZyPer Management Platform, eliminated the need for an expensive 128x128 standard matrix. In addition, the customer was able to deploy 16 inputs and 80 outputs now and then add any number of inputs and outputs in the future as their AV content distribution needs grow.
Over the next five years, Tomashek believes that industry growth will be driven by a wider variety of project sizes. While most of his sales are for large-scale, 100 to 1,000 endpoint projects such as Oneida Casino, he expects to see AVoIP adopted in smaller-scale projects like auditoriums, large conference rooms, houses of worship and other places with perhaps just 20 endpoints.
