ZeeVee’s InfoComm Recap
ZeeVee Levels Up at InfoComm 2019
ZeeVee had an AMAZING InfoComm 2019! We had a record turn-out in our booth and if you were one of the hundreds of people that came by our booth to learn about how you can level up your AV distribution, attended one of our SDVoE educational sessions, or visited us at one our partner’s booths — THANK YOU!
If you didn’t hazard the heat and humidity of Orlando, fear not, here is a recap of all the great things that happened at the show.
Ready Player One
The latest cultural phenomenon and largest emerging AV market, eSports, was front and center at the ZeeVee booth. We highlighted our ZyPer4K’s extensive KVM capabilities, zero-latency, and uncompressed 4K pixel-perfect quality by demonstrating real-time gameplay across an Ethernet network. Check out our eSports application page for more information on how we are leveling up eSports AV distribution.
One Ring, er iPad, to Control Them All
The SAVI for ZeeVee control solution, an end-user focused GUI overlay to our ZyPer Management Platform API, was on display controlling all of the AV routing in our booth. These touch-enabled applications, running on iPads, allowed booth goers to change the sources on any monitor quickly, deliver multiview layouts, and manage video walls.
The Matrix — Reloaded SDVoE Style
ZeeVee, a founding member of the SDVoE Alliance, was part of a major demonstration at the SDVoE booth, as well as participation in the SDVoE 20/20 educational sessions. We were challenging the misconceptions many people have with the natural evolution of AV matrix switch to AV over IP. Our ZyPer4K encoders were part of an interoperability demonstration with other SDVoE manufacturers and a shootout with a traditional AV matrix switch.
The shootout
The SDVoE Alliance put together a shootout between SDVoE’s premier encoder/decoder manufacturers with a NETGEAR 10Gb switch and a traditional AV matrix switch using HDBaseT technology. Booth goers were invited to “choose their own adventure” on a touch panel that included different AV distribution options: matrix switch, video wall, and multiview. Spoiler alert: the matrix switch could not get through all of them with native video wall option generating visual “errors” and the multiview option producing a wall of sad faces.
20/20 Sessions
Garth Leach, our Director of Marketing, was in the SDVoE booth quite a lot cracking jokes giving presentations about zero-latency applications and ZeeVee’s break into the medical market. Videos of these presentations to follow.
The Need for Speed: ZeeVee and NETGEAR Fueling Joint Success
We say it all the time, “ZeeVee and NETGEAR go together like peanut butter and jelly,” and this was quite apparent at this year’s show. We had NETGEAR’s AV over IP modular M4300-96X switch providing the network connection for the entire booth. Meanwhile, NETGEAR had our flagship ZyPer4K encoders and decoders powering their booth’s video wall. We enjoy NETGEAR’s continuous support and world-class products.
Winner Winner!
Adding another prize to our trophy case, we won AV Technology Magazine’s 2019 Best of Show award for our new ZyPer4K HDMI Module that allows AV/IT integrators to deliver four channels of uncompressed 4K AV, via four HDMI inputs, directly into a NETGEAR’s m4300 96x modular switch — a prime example of the future of true AV/IT convergence.
Game Over Man (Until Next Year)
We had a great InfoComm, and we thoroughly enjoyed everyone who stopped by our booth to speak with us and missed those that couldn’t make it. See you next year!
