ZeeVee Helps Engage Works Show Off Its ‘Innovation as a Service’ Model
The Flux Innovation Lounge is a futuristic and interactive venue created by Engage Works, a leading creative technology agency, based in London’s Design District. The lounge is a unique hybrid event space that aims to redefine the art of the possible, inviting visitors to think differently in a technology-rich environment and helping businesses to harness innovation. Clients range from start-ups to household names, including corporations, educational institutions and media and entertainment companies.
The lounge features ambient lighting that creates a serene atmosphere for workshops and events, while its high-tech environment features an assortment of digital displays, interactive surfaces and cutting-edge innovations that enable ideas to be visually explored and developed in real-time. The Flux Innovation Lounge is an ideal venue for hosting events including workshops and ideation sessions, presentations and pitches, networking gatherings, conferences, media events and more.
“The main goal of the Flux Innovation Lounge was to embody our ‘innovation as a service’ model to unlock our client companies’ full potential by enhancing their teams’ work, communication and engagement,” said Richard Ward, Engage Works’ account director. “It is a valuable platform for us to demonstrate our expertise to our clients, in creating technology-driven environments with extensive presentation and collaboration resources in one place that transforms the way organizations think today.”
Challenge
Set up to ignite creativity and facilitate the visual and experiential exchange of ideas, the sleek and modern space provides comfortable settings, from cozy lounge areas to more formal meeting rooms to accommodate a wide range of activities and formats.
Among the highlights of the facility’s high-tech magic are an object recognition table, holograms, eye, gender, age- and emotion-tracking, an AI photo booth, VR games, social platforms and meeting spaces, wearable haptics, and projection mapping. Many of these featured elements require the delivery of the highest quality video to monitors, video walls and other presentation surfaces with near zero latency to enable real-time interactivity.
Solution
The Flux Innovation Lounge features many 86-inch Phillips monitors, a video wall made up of nine 55-inch Phillips monitors, as well as two Panasonic projectors for a curved projection wall. Video sources include NUC PCs with CoCreate software and Aver cameras that capture live action onsite. ZeeVee ZyPer4K AV handles AV signal distribution over IP encoders and decoders in conjunction with a Netgear M4300-96X network switch. This robust AV system opens virtually endless possibilities for creative presentations and demonstrations.
The system is controlled via NUC PCs in conjunction with the ZeeVee ZyPer Management Platform that provides a simplified user interface to power-up components and select sources to be shown on individual or multiple monitors. In addition, the ZeeVee ZyPer4K SDVoE encoders and decoders provide key features including the ability to create advanced multiviews on individual monitors via a simple drag-and-drop interface. (ZeeVee was acquired by Kramer in August, 2024.)
“We previously used matrix systems, but to meet the advanced performance specs this project called for, as well as the spirit of innovation, we decided to go with an AVoIP solution,” said Howard Peters, Engage Works’ senior engineer. “This approach is simpler and enables us to do more with less gear. For instance, we can do multiviews to show many images on each monitor and across the video wall and switch all manner of content easily on the fly without separate video processors.”
The Flux Innovation Lounge has enabled Engage Works to bring to life its expertise in producing experiential concepts and innovation spaces designed to enhance communication, drive collaboration and transform businesses. Clients that have benefitted from this powerful and exciting storytelling include Bloomberg, Sky, Accenture, Google, British Land, KPMG, Microsoft and EY.
“The Flux Innovation Lounge illustrates our approach to using a mixture of cutting-edge technologies, including state-of-the-art AV, to capture the attention of our customers’ key audiences,” said Ward. “Technology moves fast and we’re proud of this facility that helps our customers keep pace.”
